Hotel, Travel and Logistics

Kananaskis Village includes five provincial parks, four wildland provincial parks, one ecological reserve and several provincial recreation areas. It is located in the front range of the Canadian Rockies, close to Banff National Park, Canmore, and Calgary. Calgary International Airport is less than a 90 minute drive.

The Workshop and training sessions will be held at the Delta Lodge at Kananaskis Village. The Delta was a purpose-built mountain lodge for the 1988 Winter Olympics (Calgary) and was the host location for the 2002 G8 Summit. Please note that only confirmed Workshop and training session attendees will be sent detailed hotel reservation information and information about transportation between Calgary Airport and the hotel.

Parking: There is outdoor hotel parking available at no additional cost.

Money and Exchange: The official currency of Canada is the Canadian Dollar ($) which fluctuates against most international currencies – at this time $1 CAD = $0.81 USD. Canadian dollars can be obtained at currency exchanges at the airport and most banks. Cash can also be obtained from numerous ATMs located near the hotel and meeting venue. Credit cards (VISA, MasterCard, American Express) are widely used and accepted in most establishments and stores. Weather: Temperatures are usually cold in the month of November in Kananaskis Village, with daily high temperatures averaging below 5 degrees Celsius and often into the negative with wind chills in the -10’s (degrees Celsius).
