The United States Group on Earth Observations (USGEO) and the Canadian Group on Earth Observations (CGEO) are co-hosting this event to help advance the use of Earth observations for coastal zone management in the Americas Region. In previous GEOSS in the Americas symposia, coastal zone issues were identified as a key issue for the region, especially the Small Island Developing States in the Caribbean. The Global Earth Observation System of Systems (GEOSS) is uniquely positioned to facilitate effective, science-driven coastal management. This forum will further identify the issues, challenges and opportunities that the GEO framework brings to this critical societal and environmental issue.
The Forum will take place 20 November 2009 at the Embassy of Canada in Washington DC, 501 Pennsylvania Avenue from 8:30-13:00.
Note: Photo identification is required to clear security at the Embassy. NO parking is available.
